I am looking to build a new rear wheel for a 73 Gitane TdF. I have no campagnolo rear hub and know that I need 120mm hub. What if I cannot locate french threading for freewheel, is it ok to use other threading as long as I get a freewheel to match? I am still hoping to find french but not sure how long I will have the patience.

I'd look for a hub for the 120mm width but with English threading - many more options for freewheels. I have a Normandy hub on one bike that is French threaded and I'm not sure what I'll do when it wears out.
