Hi folks,

It has been a while since I posted here. I use to have a unique 90's Gitane cyclocross bike. It's been passed on to another cyclist. I bought a LARGE lot of bicycles, frames, and parts. All sorts of stuff, English, Japanese, French, American,....and so on. In this lot we came across this beauty spray painted with a thick BBQ grill black paint. We found that it was painted a pretty red, on fork tube and on drop outs. There was a some old Japanese parts hanging off it. There is Suntour GT rear drops, nice lugs and interestingly is a faint Gitane logo stamped on the seat stay cluster. Serial # IX4454ON.

The frame is from one of the private labeled Japanese made Olympic Record II models that were imported by Gitane Pacific during 1976-77.

Thanks for the reply.
I was thinking it was one of the Pacific bikes since it had all Japanese standard threading. Interestingly (to me) is that it was spec'd with a 165 length crank arms.
