I don't believe that this is a "Team Pro" or "Replica", but rather a "Performance" or similar model dating from the mid to late 1980's. All of the Team Pros or Replicas of the era had a chromed chain stay. |

last owner said it can be criterium or tdf but he also cant be sure.
although it doesnt have any number attachment part on frame, i thought it can be a pro/replica
anyway. i am waiting for a seatpost to make it ready to go.
maybe she whisper her model on the way:D |

It could be a bike that came as a bare frames and was assembled with Shimano 600 Ultegra components.
Those painted Shimano components date from the late 1980s.
The decals don't look like any factory Gitane decals that I've seen. The chrome on the forks is a lot more worn than the paint so it may have been repainted. That would explain the decals.
I'm not familiar with that headset. It could be a later replacement too.
Also I've never seen a Cinelli stem that looked like the one on your bike. I looks like it's in much better condition that the bars so it may have also been a later replacement.
The 7 digit serial number on the bottom bracket (C131871) is close to the ones on my two 1984 Tour de France bikes:
C156818 (and C156760)
Look inside the seat tube to see if the paint matches the outside. Same thing if you remove the bottom bracket. That can sometimes tell you if the frame has been repainted. |
