1979 TDF prologue :
1979 TDF Superbagnères ITT :
This last one is interesting because, to this day, it is still used as Assos's logo :

These little cards came with some of the Assos gear I've bought.

What an amazing collection of parts.
Dura Ace AX cranks & pedals
Is that a Huret Svelto rear derailleur?
Looks like Campy NR brake callipers, but with customised areo brake levers.
Seat post looks custom. Perhaps prior to when Columbus started manufacturing their aero post to match the Air tubeset?
Deep aero rims with hidden nipples that wouldn't bee seen again until the 1990s!!! Front hub looks custom, I'm guessing Mavic? Has some similarity to the later 501 design.
And what about that front derailleur???!!!!! |

The Huret Svelto was light weight plus strong and rigid albeit cheap and ugly.
The Huret suicide front derailleur had the same qualities!
I doubt that many Campianistas laughed the the Le Blaireau and his old fashioned Huret shifters!

Wow - really cool. If I had to guess (and I'm not the expert here) but I'd say that could be from the 60's just looking at the decals and head badge. |
