Hi I have a low end Gitane from 1977 or 1978. I am the original owner. I konw it's not a TDF but I got the bike when I was 16. Any way, I took the bike apart, replaced all the bearings, chain, repainted the bike, same color as it was originally. The original stickers where green. Behind the brakes it says "MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY". Originally it came with Dunlop tires. There are 2 series of numbers on the left dropout, 075 and 644. All parts are original except for the freewheel, which I had replaced in 1979 because I wanted to.
