hi took my 81 gitane out today when i pulled up outside the cafe stop
i was met with stares of disbelief . the place was awash with v expensive carbon framed bikes with all the latest kit
i proudly dismounted and propped my bike on the railings amongst all the
"jewelry" on display
no one spoke or past comment as i strode past them and entered the cafe
maybe they where just envious lol
ps it rode wonderfully too! |

I bring out my retro bikes every now and again on the group rides, and get comments like "The tubes look so skinny on that thing" and "What does that weigh...30lbs?"
Anyhow, it is fun when you realize just how new to the sport most people are.... |

Wonderful story and bike too. I've often found that it's not necessarily the kit that matters it's the getting out that's important.
Steel is on it's way back. |
