Great stuff.
The early catalogs threw a monkey wrench into one of my guidelines for dating bikes from that era. Supposedly Mafac changed the name of their Dural Forge brakes to Racer in the late 1960s.

All 3 catalogs from the 1960s list those Gitanes as having "racer" brakes.
I've written the folks at the Classic Lightweights UK to see if they have any additional information on these model brakes.
