I would like to get my '72-73 TdF to 100% Original, be it on the bike or in a box. (not including tires, although I do have one of them) The only things I need are the Pivo stem and handlebars.

If a member has these to part with I would be glad to purchase. If not, can someone post a clear photo of them so I can watch on eBay?

I have done several "period" upgrades recently. I got a set of Simplex Criterium shifters as suggested (it came with Prestige), an Ideale saddle and Stronglight alloy seat post. This is where the box comes in...the old parts (nylon saddle, steel post and shifters) have gone in there and I need to add the stem and bars to it.

I have to say, for a 35 year old Gitane, it comes really close to NOS in its condition. I'm looking forward to unveiling the completed project.

I have a number of old Pivo stems. What size is your frame?

Here's what was called the "bird's mouth" version:

I have several Pivo bars but i don't want to part with them. You can frequently find these bars on eBay.

Here's a common problem with old Pivo and other alloy bars:

Bent bars like this should be discarded for safety reasons.

It's a 63cm C-T seat tube. In my mind the original was like Photo 1.
