From the photo it's hard...my best guess is a 1976 by what can be seen from the Head Tube and Fork decals that have been left behind. Brakes are replacements for sure. Likely an Interclub Model.

Judging from the fork crown and crankset I agree with Jay that it's probably an Gitane Interclub, maybe 1975 or 76.
One other thing, this is probably a 50cm frame not a 53cm.
If the bike fits you, $100 to $120 would probably be a good price.
