Ok...christmas & holidays are good opportunities to see your family and friends.

A few months ago, I had missionned my folks to dig out stuff about cycling in my childhood.

Here's what my father found. This drawings are from 1984-85, so I was 10 or 11 years old :

You'll see that the riders change but bikes are all the same...

And THIS is priceless...

This is my first FAKE Gitane : a light blue Le Grévès bike with Gitane stickers :

Note that I'm wearing Greg LeMond's world champion gloves.

And this is the finest Renault cap ever :

Those are probably from spring 1985 or 86.

Nothing's changed that much, huh ? Wink

Great pics! I did the same thing in the '60s and '70s, but I drew Chevrolet Corvettes and the Captain America chopper from Easy Rider.

Those are the best pictures that have ever been posted to the forum...and I am being absolutely honest about that. Really nice!

I like how the road looks similar to the "hero cards" of the Gitane team from 1982.

That's EXACTLY what it was supposed to be ! My brother & I tried, this very day, to take pictures the way we saw them on those postcards & magazines...amazing that 25 years later you make the parallel...

Here's a last one :

Nicolas,

Thanks much for the great pictures. They made me reminisce about my own youth.
