Hello all,
I'm glad there is a resource such as this. I lost my TDF last year to a greedy thief and have been waiting patiently for a replacement. Finally I scored a '84 Team pro frame and fork. Now it's off to on-line auctions to get the components.

I have a question about the front dérailleur. It seems the seat tube is 28mm do I need a Simplex mech or are there shims available so I can build and ride with a first generation Superb group I have.

Campy or simplex will work. I don't know anything about Suntour...and wouldn't want that hung on my 1984 ( Rolling Eyes ). I also don't like shims for anything...but don't know if it would work.

Post pics of your 1984...would love to see it. Everyone on the list really likes pictures. Very Happy

Here's a couple of shots. It came to me with a crampy head set but I'm gonna' pull it off and sell it to one of the young kids, they don't know any better. Rolling Eyes Me, I prefer kit that works properly when I ask it to. Cranks that break and slopy dérailleurs all in the name of fashion just isn't for me Razz
